Our Team, The BOARD

President – CHRISLYNN TAYLOR. ChrisLynn (CL) has been with the Chorale since 2013. With a Masters Degree in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance, CL brings a variety of specialty tools to the NCC Board.

Vice President – CINDY VAN ARSDALL. Cindy has been with the Chorale since 2008. Her background as CFO and Office Manager for a construction company provide experience with finances, operating insurance, and government documentation to enhance the needs of North Coast Chorale.

Secretary – CAROLE BIRNEY. Carole has been with the Chorale since 2001. Her background of 30-years working for the District Attorney’s Office in Support Enforcement, brings skills in dealing with the general public.

Treasurer – SHERRY PAYNE. Sherry has been with the Chorale since 2018. Besides being a retired teacher, Sherry brings skills to the NCC Board from being treasurer with Cannon Beach Choral, Director of First Presbyterian Bell Choir, and VP for PEO.

Director at Large – CHERYL CAPELLEN

Director at Large – JILL STOKELD. Jill has been with the Chorale since 2019. Jill retired after 43 years as the owner of a nationally-known restaurant right here in Astoria. She provides well-needed business guidance to the Board.

Director at Large – PATRICIA BARNES. Patricia has been with the Chorale since 2014. With over 40-years of owning her own psychiatry practice, Patricia brings good business, listening, and people skills to the Chorale Board.

Director at Large – DINAH URELL.

Associate Director SHAWN ROGERS. Shawn has been with the Chorale since 2018. Shawn is president-elect of the National Association of EMS and a national EMS lobbyist. This experience brings a comprehensive element to the Board.

Associate Director – DARCY MALLOY. Darcy joined the board in 2023. She has many years of professional stage management and box office experience, and brings practical knowledge of the performing arts to the chorale. 

Associate Director – BOB GOLDBERG. Bob has been singing with the chorale – first as a tenor, then switching to bass – since 2007. He held a board position previously, as facilities liaison. A retired chemical/environmental engineer, Now a substitute teacher and instructional aide, Bob is also involved in theater, volunteer programming for KMUN, and various community projects, incorporating his experience and enthusiasm to the Board.
