The North Coast Chorale sings choruses from Carmen, Il trovatore, Dido and Aeneas, Madama Butterfly, Nabucco and Lohengrin in the operatic first part of its 2013 spring concert, ending with some Gilbert and Sullivan fun from HMS Pinafore.

Then the Chorale switches gears and sings some favorites from Broadway musicals in the second half, including The Sound of Music, South Pacific, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Rent, Chicago and Wicked.

You’ll be singing along for most of the show, and get to hear some pretty incredible solos as well. Bring your opera glasses, dress up and help us celebrate the spring!!

Special thanks to Karen Temple, LaRee Johnson, Holly McHone Jewelry, Robert Noyes, Alvis Porter, Sylvia Stephens, Dennis Allwein, Carol Smith, Kate Giese, Lawrence Aldred, John Dahlsten, Astoria Coffee Roasters, Larry Jordan and Wadsworth Electric.

The Chorale dedicates its 2013 spring concert to the memory of Charlie Ray. Charlie served as the Chorale’s volunteer bookkeeper for many years, and often took on offstage duties at our concerts. A musical prodigy, Charlie sang and played piano and organ at age six! A faculty member in electrical engineering at Cal Tech for 35 years, and an active member of the Astoria community after that, Charlie will be missed.
